A great substitute for a missing natural tooth, an implant is a screw made from medical grade titanium that is surgically placed under the gum line, allowing it to knit naturally into the jawbone before being capped with a full crown, bridge or other replacement.

Replacement of missing teeth is crucial for good oral health, as it prevents bone deterioration which can cause dental and facial changes. One of the main advantages implants have when compared to bridges is that they are freestanding and therefore do not require disturbing the teeth on either side of the space.
